New Hyundai Santa Fe in Knoxville

Get ready to be blown away by the redesigned Santa Fe 5-passenger crossover!

Hyundai is dropping the 'Sport' from the Santa Fe Sport. Now when you come into our dealership looking for a Hyundai Santa Fe, you'll be shopping for the 5-passenger model. Don't worry if you like the three-row model, because it isn't going anywhere. Starting during the 2019 model year, the larger version will be renamed the Santa Fe XL.

This is a notable change for everyone, so if you are still a bit confused or unsure when you come in for a test drive, just let us know how many passengers you plan on driving around and we'll point you towards the right model.

What's new for the 5-Passenger Santa Fe?

From the get-go you're going to notice the stylistic differences. The Santa Fe has an all-new exterior that is more sculpted and looks incredibly premium. There's also a brand-new honeycomb grille design that's similar to the Hyundai Kona.

The interior of the redesigned Santa Fe is quite different as well. The dash design is far more compact, and like the outside the cabin exudes a quieter, more premium look compared to the busier layout in the previous generation. Backseat passengers, especially taller ones, will definitely enjoy the extra 1.5-inches of legroom, too!

Power and Dimensions

The Santa Fe will be available in several trims: SE, SEL, SEL Plus, Limited, and Ultimate. All trims have a standard 2.4L engine with 185 horsepower, but the Limited and Ultimate also come in a 2.0T version that has, you guessed it, a peppier 2.0L turbo engine with 235 horsepower! If you're someone who wants more performance or plan on having a full car most of the time, you'll want to consider the stronger engine for better thrills or more confidence. Cargo specs are still generous and nearly identical to the prior generation. With all seats up you'll have 35.9 cubic feet of space, and if you need the entire back then you'll get 71.3 cubic feet of space. The seats now have a 60/40 split instead of a 40/20/40 split. Count on a fuel economy of up to 18 city mpg, 25 highway mpg, and 21 combined mpg in a Santa Fe depending on model.

Technology & Safety

All Santa Fe's come with a touchscreen that has Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ (the smartphone integrations weren't available on the base in previous years), Bluetooth, and a rearview camera. The base trim also has more advanced safety technologies, so no matter your budget you can get some added peace of mind and assistance when you're behind the wheel. The technologies you'll get standard are blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, and forward collision avoidance assist with a sensor. Other brand-new options you can find on the upper trims include a rear occupant alert, surround view monitor for those tricky parking situations, a heads-up display, and wireless charging pad that helps cut down on the cords!

We love the new look and amenities the Hyundai Santa Fe has to offer and know you'll have a fun time shopping our selection. For more information on this newest Hyundai Santa Fe generation, stop into our showroom today!

New Hyundai Santa Fe earns IIHS Top Safety Pick+ Award

At Grayson Hyundai, we know there are a lot of different factors to consider when it comes to shopping for your family's next car. You want something spacious, practical, efficient, and above all else, something that's safe and secure. Fortunately, Hyundai evaluates its family cars by those very same criteria, which is why the new Hyundai Santa Fe is such an appealing car for families here in Knoxville. In fact, this new crossover SUV recently picked up one of the most prestigious accolades in automotive safety: The IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award.

Now, it may seem like Hyundai cars win awards left and right these days, but trust us when we say that the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ Award is truly something special. Given by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, one of the premier independent, non-profit organizations involved in automotive safety research, the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award is designated for the elite few vehicles that truly go above and beyond in terms of crash worthiness and crash prevention.

Thanks in large part to a tradition of sturdy construction, the Hyundai Santa Fe excelled in IIHS crashworthiness testing, earning the highest possible rating of "Good" in Small Front Overlap, Moderate front overlap, Side, and Roof Strength. However, what truly makes the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe impressive is its rating in Front Crash Prevention. Scoring the highest possible "Superior" rating, the Hyundai SmartSense system, which includes Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, enabled the Hyundai Santa Fe to avoid a crash via automatic braking at speeds of up to 25 mph in IIHS testing.

Of course, there are any number of other great reasons to make the new Hyundai Santa Fe your next car, but with this IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award under its belt, we can think of no more compelling reason to make this crossover SUV your family's next car. Stop by our showroom here in Knoxville, TN to learn more about the new Hyundai Santa Fe and take one for a test drive today!
